ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Monday ordered to verify allegations against Captain (retd) Safdar of owning assets disproportionate to his income.
During a meeting at NAB Islamabad headquaters, Javed Iqbal ordered verification of allegations of owning more property than income against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Safdar.
Capt (retd) Safdar has been alleged of owning 300 kanal land, a 30 kanal plot, 1 kanal residential property and a flour mill in Lahore’s Town Ship area, while he is also alleged of receiving Rs9 billion illegally by the cabinet division under the Prime Minister’s Global Sustainable Development Goals Program.
In response to NAB’s verification, Capt (retd) Safdar said that he is being ‘punished’ for demanding protection of the finality of Prophethood. He added that his life is ‘like an open book’ and that such actions can not force him to give up on his demands.
