LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday initiated an investigation against former Punjab Chief Minister and current President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif for having assets beyond the mean of income.
The PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif is currently in the custody of NAB in Ashiana Housing Scheme case.
According to the sources the bureau will demand another 10-days physical remand of Shehbaz Shairf from the accountability court on October 29.
Meanwhile, NAB while inquiring the PML-N president in the Ashiana Housing case started questioning him about having assets beyond mean.
Sources further said that Shehbaz has so far feigned ignorance regarding most of the things asked.
On October 6, Shehbaz was arrested in the Ashiana Iqbal housing scheme case, when he appeared before NAB to record his statement in the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
A press statement issued by the anti-graft body read, “The National Accountability Bureau Lahore has arrested former Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana housing scheme case. NAB will produce Shehbaz Sharif in an accountability court tomorrow.”
