KARACHI: A major power outage hit the metropolis once again and plunged the city into darkness on Wednesday night.
Within a span of 25 days, this was the fifth time when the power outage hit the metropolis leaving almost half of the city without electricity overnight.

The areas suffered electricity breakdown include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, F.B. Area, Bahadurabad, PECHS, PIB Colony, Jamshed Road, Jehangir Road, Nazimabad, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Shah Faisal Town, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, and Scheme 33.
According to the spokesperson for K-Electric, Karachi’s sole power supplier was trying to resolve the issue and restore electricity.

However, power was restored to the majority of the areas after three to four hours.
