LAHORE: The Central Investigation Agency (CIA) Kahna police Sunday killed two suspects, who were said to be involved in murder of three policemen, during an alleged police encounter in Factory Area police limits on Sunday.
According to details, CIA Superintendent of Police (SP) Tariq Mastoei was tipped off about the presence of the alleged dacoits in Muhammad Ali Colony of the Factory Area. Subsequently, the CIA SP formed a police team to arrest alleged the docoits allegedly involved in killing of three policemen, including Shadbagh stations house officer (SHO) Tajmal Butt, Kahna sub-inspector Khalid Virk and constable Rehmat Ali.
According to the SP, when the police team raided the house in which the suspects were residing, they opened firing on police party, which led to an exchange of fire. Consequently, two dacoits identified as Amir Shahzad and Ramzan were killed in the encounter.
Upon being informed, police high ups also reached the spot and visited the house where the dacoits were hiding.
Later, a search operation was launched by police to arrest their other accomplices. Police said that illegal weapons and other valuables were also recovered from the house. Police removed the dead bodies to the city mortuary for autopsies.
