PESHAWAR – Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Nasir Khan Durrani, has detained police inspector Ghulam Murtaza SHO of Jungle Khel Police Station of the district Kohat, from his services, on account of harassing an Afghan woman.
An Afghan citizen, residing in refugee camp of Ghamkol, had reported that his sister was taken in custody illegally and harassed by the inspector Ghulam Murtaza, SHO police station Jungle Khel.
On receipt of the report, the IGP immediately ordered the inquiry to be carried out by three different agencies including the concerned DPO.
During the inquiry proceedings it was came to light that the said Inspector detained the said Afghan woman along with a boy in illegal custody and later on took them to a graveyard where he tried to molest and harass her forcefully.
Thus, in the light of the findings of the inquiry the Inspector Ghulam Murtaza has been dismissed from service.
